Zoe Saldana (born June 19 in 1978) was born to Asalia Saldana & Aridio Saldana in Passaic New Jersey. Her father was Dominican while her mother is Puerto Rican. She was raised in Queens, New York. Her family relocated to the Dominican Republic at the age of 10, and there they would spend the next seven year. Zoe was able to establish an appreciation for dance while she was living in Dominican Republic.
